Welcome to our community! At Napa Acupuncture Practice,
we provide personalized acupuncture treatment in a quiet, community setting.
What’s special about Napa Acupuncture Practice (NAP)?
Most acupuncturists in the US treat patients in private rooms on massage tables. This is not traditional in Asia, where acupuncture usually occurs in a community setting. Our clinic is filled with comfortable, zero gravity recliners clustered in a quiet, soothing space.
Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: It’s easy for friends and family members to come in for treatment together--just schedule a two or three person appointment; many patients find it comforting; and a collective energetic field becomes established which makes individual treatments more powerful. The style of acupuncture we practice at NAP allows patients to rest/sleep for up 45 minutes or more, as space permits. Patients choose when they are ready to have their treatment end.
Most acupuncturists also see only one or two patients per hour and so they need to charge more per treatment to cover their expenses. Intake interviews tend to be more elaborate and lengthy too. At NAP, we have returned to the traditional approach—seeing multiple patients at a time and relying primarily on pulse diagnosis to decide how to treat you. This is exactly how acupuncture is practiced traditionally in Asia—many patients per hour and very little talking. The great thing is, it is also very effective!
We have a $25 fee so we do not accept insurance or workers comp. *Please note that the initial visit has a $10 paperwork fee. If you have insurance that covers acupuncture, we’ll be happy to email you a payment receipt and then you can submit it.
Our Commitment To You: We want to make it possible for you to receive acupuncture regularly enough and long enough to get better and stay better. We provide a safe space for all people who want to receive acupuncture. You are welcome here, whatever your age, gender, physical or mental capabilities, social graces, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, or position in life. No matter who you are — you are welcome at Napa Acupuncture Practice.
What We Need From You: NAP does not provide primary care medicine. Acupuncture is a wonderful complement to Western medicine, but it is not a substitute for it. If you think you might have a serious medical problem or if you want someone to go over the details of your medical history, you need to see a primary care physician (MD, ND, or DO). We can provide complimentary care for conditions which also require a physician’s attention--for instance, we often treat patients for the side effects of chemotherapy, Lyme disease, Hepatitis, etc. but we need you to take responsibility for your own health. We need you to be on time for your appointments so that each patient scheduled can have a treatment. Also, if you need to cancel your appointment please give 12 hours notice so that another person can reserve the appointment time. There is a $20 fee for late cancellations and no shows. Please email email@example.com with feedback, questions, comments, or concerns.
