Kid-Friendly Stickers: Seirin Pyonex Press Tacks

These gentle Japanese stickers are tiny (.11 millimeter) surgical-grade, stainless steel needles attached by waterproof/breathable hypoallergenic tape.  They do not puncture the skin like traditional acupuncture needles; rather, they provide continuous stimulation at specific points.  They are an ideal choice for kids or people who are sensitive and prefer a longer-lasting experience.

Intadermal “Sticker” Notes:

  • Intradermal needles (a.k.a. “stickers”) should not be painful or sensitive. To prevent skin irritation, do not press or move the sticker.

  • Wash/shower as normal, but do not scrub the area of the stickers.  A prolonged swim or soak will make them slide off sooner.

  • Stickers should be left on for a maximum of 3 to 4 days. The skin needs to breathe.

Check them daily for:

  • Remove the sticker immediately if it causes you any discomfort at any time, including while sleeping.

  • Pain, soreness, swelling, redness, heat, or itching may indicate a problem. If any of these symptoms are present, remove the sticker, consult a physician, and contact Napa Acupuncture Practice.

  • If you experience itching near the sticker, you may be allergic to the adhesive tape. Remove the sticker and contact Napa Acupuncture Practice at 707-294-2554.

To remove the stickers, grab a corner of the tape and peel it away from the skin.  You may need the assistance of another person if it is hard to see them (i.e., through their ears). Fold the sticker carefully onto itself (there is a sharp point in the center of it) and dispose of it in the garbage.
